Parenting is one of the biggest challenges we will be faced with in our life time. It can bring the greatest rewards but also the toughest of times. Being a single parent can also be extremely rewarding but we also know that it can be very hard work and stressful too. These pages are not a comprehensive list of organisations that deal with parenting issues but we hope they will, in the first instance, be able to direct you to the kind of support or advice you are looking for.
The Sorting out Separation website is the first place to look for anyone needing help and support after separation.

Sorting out separation is part of the governments Help and Support for Separated Families (HSSF) network, which aims to help separated parents work together to achieve what's best for their children.

Bringing up children involves lots of joint decisions. If you are separated, it's harder to make these decisions and plans as you go along.
'Splitting Up? Put Kids First' helps you to create a FREE Parenting Plan online and learn the skills you need to make it work for you both.
Keeping children in touch with parents following separation. Adult relationships can remain difficult after parents separate or divorce. Yet the majority of children want, and need, to maintain a relationship with parents and other relatives who are important to them.
Child contact centres aim to provide a safe, neutral and comfortable place for children to see their non-resident parents or family.
